چکیده

We introduce an end-to-end imaging system model for a spectrally coded plenoptic camera. The model includes a system-dependent spectral demultiplexing algorithm and is used to evaluate spectral quality and classification performance of a spectrally coded plenoptic camera. © 2012 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: 110.1758, 110.4234, 100.3010.

Evaluation of multispectral plenoptic camera

Plenoptic cameras enable capture of a 4D lightfield, allowing digital refocusing and depth estimation from data captured with a compact portable camera. Whereas most of the work on plenoptic camera design has been based a simplistic geometric-optics-based characterization of the optical path only, little work has been done of optimizing end-to-end system performance for a specific application. ...

Optimization of Spectrally Coded Mask for Multi-modal Plenoptic Camera

We introduce a framework to optimize the spatial layout of a spectral filter mask inserted into the aperture of a plenoptic camera. The optimization merit function evaluates end-to-end system performance, including spectral crosstalk at the sensor caused by lens aberrations and diffraction effects. We use the example of a Bayer pattern to illustrate the effects of optimized filter partitions on...

Design framework for a spectral mask for a plenoptic camera

Plenoptic cameras are designed to capture different combinations of light rays from a scene, sampling its lightfield. Such camera designs capturing directional ray information enable applications such as digital refocusing, rotation, or depth estimation. Only few address capturing spectral information of the scene. It has been demonstrated that by modifying a plenoptic camera with a filter arra...

The Sampling Pattern Cube A Framework for Representation and Evaluation of Plenoptic Capturing Systems

Digital cameras have already entered our everyday life. Rapid technological advances have made it easier and cheaper to develop new cameras with unconventional structures. The plenoptic camera is one of the new devices which can capture the light informationwhich is then able to be processed for applications such as focus adjustments. The high level camera properties, such as the spatial or ang...

Unconstrained Two-parallel-plane Model for Focused Plenoptic Cameras Calibration

The plenoptic camera can capture both angular and spatial information of the rays, enabling 3D reconstruction by single exposure. The geometry of the recovered scene structure is affected by the calibration of the plenoptic camera significantly. In this paper, we propose a novel unconstrained two-parallel-plane (TPP) model with 7 parameters to describe a 4D light field. By reconstructing scene ...
